“It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the universe going, Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing, Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist.”—Hawking and Mlodinow
if our planet is finite... and it is, then there should be no inflation, and value should be constant
if all governments agreed that our planet has finite resources, there would be no inflation, a subsequent abolition of all debt, would permit a dynamic spread of resources, permitting the 80% of the planet living in poverty to healthily contribute to society. increasing productivity and providing abundance, which in turn starts a positive upcycling and recycling of resources. improvements in technology and the law of accelerated returns would allow for exponential shifting towards a society no longer hurting its host planet, but actively participating in the natural world we inhabit.
It's so hard to find other people who want to change the world... I feel like I just can't sit here and do nothing, anymore. I like your blog a lot :) Finally someone who 'gets it'.
August 2nd.... crash baby, crash! I want to see the US default, go into depression, causing everyone else to crash, forcing the world gov'ts to rethink 'money' and start from scratch.
Sounds far out, but I just can't deal with this reality... I know how much better the world would be without money, and men who want that money so they can have power.
while i completely understand exactly what you are saying, i hope quite sincerely that you are planning and working your own way forward, that you are preparing to grow your own food, and provide your own power and clean water, because when the economy collapses, those who have, are not likely to share with those who have not.
Find a way to do what you do and still provide everything for yourself, and possibly others. Do not sell your extra food, but give it to those in need freely, set an example and encourage others to do the same. as Gandhi once said: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world”
let’s not wait and hope and pray for salvation, let us stand apart and see to ourselves and our fellow man… be the salvation we wish to see.
when you can tell me about the daily life of an ant, just one, having followed it and showing that you have made the made the attempt to understand it, then i will be able to feel the empathy for you that i feel for all the earth.
when you have let go of perceptions of superiority, having humbled yourself enough to admit that there is no more nobility in your life than that of one single ant, then I will be able to speak to you as an equal just as I live equally with the ant
True, but you seem to have been able to find a spot where no one’s really looking over your shoulder, so even if you don’t have internet, you could just try shit out and discover it for yourself. Case-in-point. weed. Grow it, experiment, document.
i do.. i have.. and i am… will post my writings in about 2 months :)
Why rely on someone to teach you something when there’s the internet?
well, the US has the internet in abundance… but i could easily point out that here in south africa, the internet is an expensive commodity that few but the wealthy can actually afford (and wealthy by our standards, not american)
In America, that’s just how it is. 15 yr old kids deal it on the streets. I don’t think/know if we can change that here, now. I’m sure some people in America grow/smoke their own and use it for clothes, etc. But, the media/culture about it is diff.
i hate to say it, but lately i’m beginning to think that America might be the most screwed up country in the world. and to be perfectly honest, my only advice to Americans is: “GET OUT!!! While You Still Can!” Your system blinds you to truth, it popularizes your pseudo-culture to the point where change becomes unfathomable for most of your society. Americans (for the most part) live in willful ignorance about the world, and i don’t really see a way around it, other than that it will eventually consume itself, and break itself so thoroughly, that you will have no choice but to return to the land which you are now busy polluting and spoiling.
it’s sad really… but whatever you do, don’t try to blame a harmless plant. blame the people perpetuating your negative system.
“The whole educational and professional training system is a very elaborate filter, which just weeds out people who are too independent, and who think for themselves, and who don’t know how to be submissive, and so on — because they’re dysfunctional to the institutions.”—Noam Chomsky (via glynnthomas)
well, i see things for myself. and what i’ve seen is marijuana today is. 1. not pure 2. it does cause, and lead to bigger problems. i’ve seen this firsthand with my little brother jacob. it’s sad. everyone should think for themself, and do whats best
i grow my own, smoke my own, and use the plant for a myriad of things other than just smoking. in our community, it makes rope, it makes clothing, it makes pulp for paper, it fixes unhealthy ground erosion, and it has a million medicinal uses.
anyone who abuses anything will create a negative for themselves. but that does not mean that weed is bad. it means people choose to use it incorrectly, because the system does not teach them about all the other uses.
