Thoughts of a New World
Choice and Change
There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.
Albert Einstein
My children,” said an old man to his boys scared by a figure in the dark entry, “my children, you will never see any thing worse than yourselves.” As in dreams, so in the scarcely less fluid events of the world, every man sees himself as colossal, without knowing that it is himself. The good, compared to the evil which he sees, is as his own good to his own evil.
~ R.W. Emerson, “Spiritual Laws”

WOW! Truly one of the Greatest Videos I have Ever Watched!

Magician Marco Tempest uses sleight of hand and fortuitous timing on his three iPod Touches to show us his own brand of techno-three-card Monte.

I only now realized that I haven’t even introduced myself…. such bad manners!!!

I’m so very glad that you are reading this. First off, my name is Pieter de Beer (Rob Cayman is a nickname from time spent living in the Caribbean… a very very good time :) ) I am 28 and from South Africa, currently residing on the coast in Durban.

At the moment I am in the process of launching a non-profit, non-government organisation, aimed at the abolition of the construct of ownership and the promotion of a world without money… but you can read more about that in the blog :)

If pressed for a definition of myself, I would probably have to go with an uneducated philosopher. But I also love writing poetry, and although the two are closely linked, any poet or philosopher would tell you they are vastly different. and lately, I have been feeling more and more like the label “Activist” wouldn’t be too far off.

I think like a programmer because I was trained as one, but the pressure broke me early and I became a waiter.
I have the gift of the gab, and have always been such an avid reader (with a pretty sharp memory) that my large store of data makes for fascinating discussion, if you’re ever of the mind… hint hint ;)

As a waiter and as many other service related descriptions (lifeguard, barman, tour guide….) I did some travelling, returning home to study Drama… of all things…. but the verbosity was there and proved useful. My sharp mind grasped the principles fast and my ear for dialects was a quick score from the theatrical standpoint. I  can hit a note (although I’m no Idol) and to my utter dismay, those who first see me being me often equate me to Jim Carey, and it’s completely ridiculous, because I could never do half the things that man is capable of.

Then I stepped up to the plate. I co-wrote a play, funded it with everything I had, Directed and Acted in It. Got a great review, but no audience… the play went under and left me with ash. That was in December 2010.

Now I am on my horse again, and this time with a new crusade. For a Summary of the work I have been doing since January, please click the links titled “changing the world”, “summary of the transition” & “preparing for the transition”

And I love answering questions, so if you wanna ask, then ask :D
